Make Money Blogging

More and more people are starting up and running there own blogs. We often get asked if it is possible to make money blogging. The answer is yes, we make a regular income from MoneyMaster Blog

First of all you need to understand what a blog is a "Blog" is an abbreviation of "weblog," a term that is spreading around the internet faster than the speed of light and used to describe a web site that is in essence a diary or a log term about ongoing chronicle of information. Blogs in general are frequently updated, personal website featuring diary-type commentary and links to articles or other Web sites.

You will soon come to realise that blogs focus on aparticular topic, such as web design, working from home, health etc and often include links to other sites

In general blogs or web logs tend to feature the following:

  • A main content area with articles listed chronologically, newest on top.
  • An archive of older articles.
  • A way for people to leave comments about entries.
  • A list of links to other related sites

Getting started with your blog

Another reason that blogs are so popular is that you can be up and running in minutes instead of hourse as getting started  is so easy.  Many of the popular blogs provide you with easy installs, templates and much more

  • Wordpress
  • Blogger
  • Live Journal
  • Squidoo
  • twitter - a new form of micro blogging

One of the great things about blogs is that they are not only easy to set up and get started but you do not need to be limited to the templates provided by the blogging companies.

There are many sites that provide you with free templates for both Blogger and Wordpress. They are surprisingly easy to install and require minimal internet experience. If you can download a file then you have all the skills you need.  As well as free blog templates there are lots of resoources for wordpress blogs.

Alternatively you can host your blog with your own domain name and hosting package for total flexibility, avoiding any restrictions placed by the free resources. One such site is http://www.wordpress-blog-host.info/

There are however also disadvantages.

  1. WordPress is being constantly developed and so you will be required to upgrade from time to time.
  2. You will need to ensure future upgrades don't affect plugins/and or that plugins are updated along with WordPress.

Upgrading is becoming easier and it will probably be done by your hosting provider in the future so I don't consider this to be a a major problem
